Zakynthos, or Zante, is among the most beautiful and popular islands of the Ionian Sea. Located south of Kefalonia, it is world famous for the crystal beaches and the intense nightlife, which makes it a frequent destination for the youth. The largest island of the Ionian Sea, Kefalonia is a very charming place. Although it has developed over the last years as a family destination, beach places in Kefalonia island never get crowded due to the large size of the island. Mostly famous for the exotic beaches, including Myrtos, Antisamos, Lourdas and Skala, the island was chosen for filming the Hollywood movie Captain Corelli’s Mandolin. The island of Meganisi is located just between Lefkada and the western mainland coasts of Greece. This is an island with a small population and limited tourist development. Particularly the uninhabited islet of Antipaxi has some of the most wonderful beaches in Greece, with true Caribbean water.
